Hollyleaf Redberry is a medium, evergreen shrub that grows slow to moderate. Definitely give this some water and afternoon shade. The leaves are rounded and deep green. The flowers are barely noticeable, but the little red berries are very charming and the birds do enjoy them. A hard plant to get established sometimes.

In the garden, these are used on slopes or for small hedges. These are often used by CA native plant collectors, since they aren’t the most practical to grow.
